যাদের ডায়াবেটিসের ঝুঁকি বেশি:
# যাদের ওবেসিটি রয়েছে ও সেডেন্টারি জীবনযাত্রা পালন করেন।
# উচ্চরক্তচাপ এবং রক্তে কোলেস্টেরলের মাত্রা বেশি থাকলে।
# বংশগতভাবে যাদের পরিবারে ডায়াবেটিস আছে।
# যারা নিয়মিত স্টেরয়েড জাতীয় ওষুধ খান।
# যারা নিয়মিত মদ্যপান ও ধূমপান করেন।
যেসব লক্ষণ দেখলে সতর্ক হতে হবে:
# ঘনঘন প্রস্রাব হওয়া ও পিপাসা লাগা
# দুর্বল লাগা, ঘোর ঘোর ভাব আসা
# ক্ষুধা বেড়ে যাওয়া
# সময়মতো খাওয়া-দাওয়া না হলে রক্তের শর্করা কমে হাইপো হওয়া
# মিষ্টি জাতীয় জিনিসের প্রতি আকর্ষণ বেড়ে যাওয়া
# কোন কারণ ছাড়াই অনেক ওজন কমে যাওয়া
# শরীরে ক্ষত বা কাটাছেঁড়া হলেও দীর্ঘদিনেও সেটা না সারা
# চামড়ায় শুষ্ক, খসখসে ও চুলকানি ভাব
# বিরক্তি ও মেজাজ খিটখিটে হয়ে ওঠা
