রাজধানীর উত্তরখান থানার মাদারবাড়ী এলাকায় কয়েকজন রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিকে ঘিরে স্থানীয় বাসিন্দাদের মধ্যে আতঙ্ক বিরাজ করছে। যারা এলাকায় কান্দাইলের বাড়ির ছয় ভাই নামে পরিচিত।
নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে
কয়েকজন এলাকাবাসী অভিযোগ করেন যে স্হানীয় একটি গোষ্ঠী দীর্ঘদিন ধরে এলাকায় প্রভাব বিস্তার করে আসছে এবং বিভিন্ন অনিয়মের সঙ্গে জড়িত।
সূত্র টি আরো জানায় এই গোষ্ঠীটি এলাকায় নতুন বাড়ি নির্মাণের সময় জোরপূর্বক অর্থ আদায়, অতিরিক্ত দামে নির্মাণসামগ্রী কিনতে বাধ্য করা এবং বিভিন্ন অজুহাতে সাধারণ মানুষের কাছ থেকে সুবিধা নেয়ার কাজ গুলো জোড় পূর্বক করে যাচ্ছে।
অনেকেই দাবি করেছেন, এসব কার্যক্রমে বাধা দিলে হুমকি ও ভয়ভীতি প্রদর্শনের শিকার হতে হয়।
কিছু ভুক্তভোগীর ভাষ্য, “কেউ থানায় অভিযোগ করতে গেলে আগে তাদের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করতে বলা হয়—এমন একটা অঘোষিত নিয়ম তৈরি হয়ে গেছে।”
এলাকাবাসীর আরও অভিযোগ, অতীতে রাজনৈতিক পটপরিবর্তনের সময় এই গোষ্ঠীর কার্যক্রমে কম দৌড়াত্ব দেখা গেলেও বর্তমানে সরকার দলীয় সংশ্লিষ্টতার কারণে তাদের প্রভাব আবারও বেড়েছে। স্থানীয় নেতাদের সঙ্গে সুসম্পর্ক রেখে তারা আরো বেশি প্রভাব বিস্তার করছে বলে অভিযোগও তুলেছেন কেউ কেউ।
উত্তরখান থানায় এই গোষ্ঠীর বিরুদ্ধে পূর্বে একাধিক অভিযোগ ও মামলা রয়েছে বলে স্থানীয়রা দাবি করেছেন।
বর্তমানে সাধারণ মানুষ নিজেদের নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন। অনেকেই প্রশাসনের কাছে সুষ্ঠু তদন্ত ও প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের দাবি জানিয়েছেন।
