আগামী ২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি রমজানের মধ্যে জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনে বসতে যাচ্ছে বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন নতুন সরকারের প্রথম অধিবেশন। সংসদ সচিবালয়ের দেওয়া তথ্য থেকে এ কথা জানা গেছে।
বাংলাদেশের সংবিধানের ৭২ অনুচ্ছেদের ২ নম্বর উপধারা অনুযায়ী, জাতীয় নির্বাচনের ফলাফলের সরকারি গেজেট প্রকাশের ৩০ দিনের মধ্যে নতুন সংসদের প্রথম অধিবেশন আহ্বান করতে হবে। অধিবেশনটি ডাকবেন রাষ্ট্রপতি, তবে তিনি প্রধানমন্ত্রীর লিখিত পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী তা করেন। প্রথম বৈঠকের তারিখ ও সময় নির্ধারণ রাষ্ট্রপতির আদেশেই হয়।
এবারের ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় নির্বাচনের ফল সরকারিভাবে প্রকাশ করা হয় গত ১৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি। সে হিসাবে আগামী ১৬ মার্চের মধ্যেই এই সংসদের প্রথম অধিবেশন বসতে হবে। সংসদ সচিবালয়ের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, বিগত ১২টি জাতীয় সংসদের মধ্যে মাত্র তিনটির প্রথম অধিবেশন রমজান মাসে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল।
