জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) আহ্বায়ক ও জাতীয় সংসদের বিরোধী দলীয় চিফ হুইপ নাহিদ ইসলাম বলেছেন, বিএনপির প্রায় ৬২ শতাংশ নির্বাচিত সংসদ সদস্য কোনো না কোনোভাবে ঋণের সঙ্গে জড়িত। তিনি প্রশ্ন তুলে বলেন, দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর অবস্থানের কথা বলা হলেও নিজেদের মন্ত্রিসভা ও সংসদ সদস্যদের ঋণ পরিশোধের বিষয়টি কবে নিশ্চিত করা হবে—এ প্রশ্নের জবাব জনগণ জানতে চায়।
বৃহস্পতিবার (১৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি) রাজধানীর বাংলামোটরে দলের কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ে নির্বাচন-পরবর্তী সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন। নাহিদ ইসলাম বলেন, দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলার আগে নিজের ঘর ঠিক করতে হবে। ঋণ পরিশোধ করেই দুর্নীতিবিরোধী অবস্থান নেওয়া উচিত।
