আগামী জুন মাসে ভারত থেকে পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে ডিজেল আমদানি শুরু হতে পারে বলে আশা প্রকাশ করেছেন বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ প্রতিমন্ত্রী নসরুল হামিদ।
ডিজেল আমদানির ইতোমধ্যে প্রায় ১৩১ দশমিক পাঁচ কিলোমিটার ইন্ডিয়া-বাংলাদেশ ফ্রেন্ডশিপ পাইপলাইন নির্মাণও হয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।
সোমবার সংসদের বৈঠকে প্রশ্নোত্তরে ডিজেল আমদানি প্রসঙ্গে কথা বলেন প্রতিমন্ত্রী।
এর আগে স্পিকার ড. শিরীন শারমিন চৌধুরীর সভাপতিত্বে সংসদের বৈঠক শুরু হলে প্রশ্নোত্তর টেবিলে উপস্থাপিত হয়।
সরকারি দলের এম আব্দুল লতিফের প্রশ্নের জবাবে প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে ভারত থেকে ডিজেল আমদানির জন্য ভারত অংশে পাঁচ কিলোমিটারসহ প্রায় ১৩১ দশমিক পাঁচ কিলোমিটার ইন্ডিয়া-বাংলাদেশ ফ্রেন্ডশিপ পাইপলাইন (আইবিএফপিএল) নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। এই পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে ডিজেল আমদানির প্রি-কমিশনিং কার্যক্রম চলমান রয়েছে। আগামী জুন মাসে ওই পাইপলাইনের মাধ্যমে ডিজেল আমদানির কমিশনিং তথা পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে ডিজেল আমদানি শুরু হবে বলে আশা করা যায়।
