বিদ্যুৎ সাশ্রয়ে দেশের শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে সাপ্তাহিক ছুটি দুই দিন করার কথা ভাবা হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী দীপু মনি।
শিগগিরই এ ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত জানানো সম্ভব হবে বলে জানান তিনি। শুক্রবার ঢাকা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটে আয়োজিত এক আলোচনা সভায় একথা বলেন তিনি।
‘জাতীয় সম্মেলন ও পলিটেকনিক শিক্ষার মানোন্নয়নে শিক্ষকের ভূমিকা’ শীর্ষক সেমিনার এবং জাতীয় শোক দিবস উপলক্ষে এ আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করে পলিটেকনিক শিক্ষক সমিতি।
নতুন শিক্ষাক্রম অনুযায়ী, ২০২৩ সাল থেকে সব শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে সাপ্তাহিক ছুটি দুই দিন হবে। বর্তমানে জ্বালানি সংকটে বিদ্যুৎ সাশ্রয়ের জন্য দুই দিন ছুটির বিষয়টি যথাসম্ভব দ্রুত চালু করা যায় কিনা সেটি নিয়ে ভাবছে মন্ত্রণালয়।
দীপু মনি বলেন, বিদ্যুৎ সাশ্রয়ের জন্য শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে সাপ্তাহিক ছুটি দুই দিন করা যায় কি না, তা ভেবে দেখা হচ্ছে। তবে এই মুহূর্তেই কোনো সিদ্ধান্তের কথা বলা যাচ্ছে না। হয়তো শিগগিরই সিদ্ধান্ত জানানো যাবে।
এসময় কারিগরি শিক্ষাগ্রহণ প্রসঙ্গে মন্ত্রী বলেন, কারিগরি শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে কেউ বেকার থাকে না। তাই কারিগরি শিক্ষাকে মর্যাদাপূর্ণ করতে হবে।
কারিগরি শিক্ষা নিয়ে মানুষের মনোজগতে যে বিভ্রান্তি আছে, সেটি দূর করতে সবাইকে একযোগে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানান তিনি।
