সাপের কামড়ে মানুষ মরে। এটাই স্বাভাবিক। তবে এবার মানুষের কামড়ে মরল সাপ। তাও আবার বিষধর গোখরার বাচ্চা। আরও অবাক করা বিষয়, সাপটিকে কামড়ে মেরেছে মাত্র এক বছরের ছোট্ট শিশু।
মঙ্গলবার সকাল ১০টার দিকে চুয়াডাঙ্গার সদর উপজেলার উজলপুর গ্রামের বিলপাড়ায় এমনি অবাক করা ঘটনা ঘটেছে। সৌভাগ্যক্রমে শিশুটিও সুস্থ আছে।
ওই শিশুটির নাম জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস। সে উজলপুর গ্রামের রিয়াজুল ইসলামের মেয়ে।
শিশু জান্নাতুলের মা শিলা খাতুন জানান, সকালে চাচাতো ভাই কাউসারের সঙ্গে ঘরে মধ্যে খেলছিল জান্নাতুল। একপর্যায়ে খেলতে খেলতে দুজনেই ঘটের নিচে চলে যায়। এসময় ঘটের নিচে থাকা একটি গোখরা সাপের বাচ্চাকে হাত দিয়ে ধরে দুই জায়গায় কামড় দেয় জান্নাতুল। পরে সাপের বাচ্চাসহ ঘটের নিচ থেকে বাইরে বের হয়ে আসে শিশু জান্নাতুল। তাকে দ্রুত উদ্ধার করে সদর হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। সাপের বাচ্চাটি মারা গেছে। সেটি চিকিৎসকের কাছে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
সদর হাসপাতালের শিশু বিশেষজ্ঞ মাহবুবুর রহমান মিলন বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
তিনি জানান, শিশুটিকে শিশু ওয়ার্ডে ভর্তি রেখে পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হচ্ছে। তবে, তার অবস্থা আশঙ্কামুক্ত।
