করোনাভাইরাস মহামারির মধ্যে প্রায় ৫ লাখ প্রবাসী শ্রমিক দেশে ফেরত এসেছেন। এসব প্রবাসীকে প্রাথমিকভাবে সাড়ে ১৩ হাজার টাকা করে অনুদান দেবে সরকার। এজন্য ৪২৭ কোটি ৩০ লাখ টাকা ব্যয়ে ‘প্রত্যাগত অভিবাসী কর্মীদের পুনঃএকত্রীকরণের লক্ষ্যে অনানুষ্ঠানিক খাতে কর্মসংস্থান সৃজনে সহায়ক প্রকল্প’ অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে।
বুধবার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সভাপতিত্বে এই প্রকল্পটির অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে।এদিন এটিসহ মোট ১০ প্রকল্পের অনুমোদন দিয়েছে জাতীয় অর্থনৈতিক পরিষদের নির্বাহী কমিটির (একনেক) সভা। প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং একনেক চেয়ারপারসন শেখ হাসিনার সভাপতিত্বে গণভবনের সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত হয়ে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সিংয়ের মাধ্যমে শেরেবাংলা নগরে এনইসি সম্মেলন কক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় একনেক সভা।
সভা শেষে পরিকল্পনামন্ত্রী এম এ মান্নান এ তথ্য সাংবাদিকদের জানান।সভায় নতুন ও সংশোধিত ১০টি প্রকল্পের অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়। নতুন প্রকল্পের ব্যয় ও সংশোধিত প্রকল্পের বাড়তি অর্থায়ন মিলে ১০ প্রকল্পে ব্যয় হবে ২ হাজার ৫৭৫ কোটি ৪২ লাখ টাকা। এর মধ্যে সরকারি অর্থায়ন ২ হাজার ১৫০ কোটি ৪২ লাখ টাকা; বৈদেশিক ঋণ ৪২৫ কোটি টাকা।
