করোনার ঊর্ধ্বমুখী সংক্রমণের মাঝে চলমান সর্বাত্মক লকডাউনে বিভিন্ন মামলায় আসামিদের জামিনের মেয়াদ ও আদালতের অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন আদেশের কার্যকারিতা আরও এক মাস বাড়িয়েছে সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রশাসন।
মঙ্গলবার সুপ্রিম কোর্টের রেজিস্ট্রার জেনারেল মো. আলী আকবর স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিজ্ঞপ্তি থেকে এ তথ্য জানা গেছে।
বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, যে সব মামলায় আসামিকে নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর্যন্ত জামিন দেয়া হয়েছে বা যে সব মামলায় উচ্চ আদালত থেকে অধস্তন আদালতে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে আত্মসমর্পণের শর্তে জামিন দেওয়া হয়েছে বা যে সব মামলায় নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্য অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন আদেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে- সে সব মামলার জামিন এবং সব ধরনের অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন আদেশসমূহের কার্যকারিতা আগামী এক মাস পর্যন্ত বর্ধিত করা হয়েছে।
এর আগে চলতি বছর ৫ এপ্রিল, ১৮ এপ্রিল, ২ ও ২৭ মে এবং ২৭ জুন পাঁচ দফায় পৃথক পৃথক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে সব আসামির জামিন যথাক্রমে ২, ৪, ১ ও ১ মাস করে বৃদ্ধি করেছিল সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রশাসন।
প্রসঙ্গত, করোনা পরিস্থিতিতে আদালতে বিচারপ্রার্থীদের উপস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে বারবার বিভিন্ন মেয়াদে আসামিদের জামিন ও অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন আদেশের মেয়াদ বৃদ্ধি করে আসছেন সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রশাসন।
