দেশে করোনার সংক্রমণ বাড়ায় উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক। সংক্রমণ বাড়লে হাসপাতালে রোগীর জায়গা হবে না বলে সতর্ক করেছেন মন্ত্রী। এজন্য সবাইকে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন তিনি।
রবিবার বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বঙ্গমাতা শেখ ফজিলাতুন্নেছা মুজিব কনভেনশন হলে ফিল্ড হাসপাতাল পরিদর্শন শেষে এমন উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেন স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক।
সবাইকে করোনা প্রতিরোধী টিকা নেয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়ে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘দেশে করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ আবারও বাড়তে শুরু করেছে। এ অবস্থায় শিগগিরই হাসপাতালগুলোতে শয্যা সংকট দেখা দিতে পারে। মনে রাখতে হবে, সংক্রমণ বাড়লে হাসপাতালে জায়গা হবে না।’
ঈদযাত্রায় মানুষ স্বাস্থ্যবিধি না মানার কারণে করোনা সংক্রমণ বেড়েছে বলে জানান স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক। তিনি বলেন, ঈদে গ্রামে যাওয়া-আসার কারণে করোনা সংক্রমণ পাঁচ থেকে ছয় গুণ বেড়েছে। এখন যারা ঢাকার হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছে অধিকাংশ গ্রামের রোগী। শহরে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করোনা রোগীর ৭৫ শতাংশ গ্রাম থেকে আসা।
করোনা সংক্রমণ প্রতিরোধে টিকা দেয়ার কোনো বিকল্প নেই এমন মন্তব্য করে মন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘আমরা ২১ কোটি টিকার ব্যবস্থা করেছি। মাসে এক কোটি মানুষকে টিকা দেয়ার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে সরকারের।’
