মালয়েশিয়ার রাজধানী কুয়ালালামপুরের আশপাশের বিভিন্ন এলাকা থেকে ১০২ জন বাংলাদেশিসহ ৩০৯ জনকে আটক করা হয়।
সোমবার ভোরে কুয়ালালামপুরে ডেনকিলে বেশ কয়েকটি নির্মাণাধীন সাইট থেকে তাদের আটক করা হয়। আটককৃতদের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ ছাড়াও ইন্দোনেশিয়া, ভিয়েতনাম, ভারত ও মিয়ানমারের নাগরিক রয়েছে।
দেশটির অভিবাসন বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়, আটককৃতরা ২০ থেকে ৫২ বছর বয়সী। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিবাসী আইন লঙ্ঘনের অভিযোগ আনা হয়েছে। অভিযানের নেতৃত্ব দেন দেশটির ইমিগ্রেশনের ডিজি ইন্দিরা খাইরুল জাইমি দাউদ। অভিযানে অংশ নেন ইমিগ্রেশনের ১৮৯ জন কর্মকর্তা।
অভিযান সম্পর্কে ইমিগ্রেশনের ডিজি বলেন, আমরা তথ্য পেয়ছিলাম যে এখানে এমসিও লঙ্ঘন করে কাজ চালিয়ে যাওয়া হচ্ছে এবং স্বাস্থ্যবিধি একেবারেই মানা হচ্ছে না। মূলত এ কারণেই অভিযান চালাতে বাধ্য হয়েছি। একই সঙ্গে আটককৃতদের সিমুনি ক্যাম্পে নিয়ে করোনা পরীক্ষা করা হবে। পরে পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে।
