করোনাকালেও থেমে নেই কিশোরগঞ্জের ঐতিহাসিক পাগলা মসজিদে মানুষের দান-সদকা। শনিবার পৌনে নয়টার দিকে জেলা প্রশাসনের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা, মসজিদ কমিটিসহ ব্যাপক নিরাপত্তাব্যবস্থার মধ্যে আটটি দানবাক্সের সিন্দুক খোলা হয়। এসব সিন্দুক থেকে ১২ বস্তা টাকা পাওয়া গেছে।
এখন বস্তাগুলো মসজিদের দ্বিতীয়তলার মেঝেতে ঢেলে গণনা চলছে। পাগলা মসজিদ ইসলামী কমপ্লেক্সের দেড় শতাধিক শিক্ষার্থীসহ রূপালী ব্যাংকের কর্মকর্তারা টাকাগুলো গণনা করছেন।
এর আগে গত ২৩ জানুয়ারি সর্বশেষ সিন্দুক খোলা হয়েছিল। তখন সর্বোচ্চ দুই কোটি ৩৮ লাখ ৫৫ হাজার ৫৪৫ টাকা পাওয়া গিয়েছিল।
জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ের অতিরিক্ত ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট ফরিদা ইয়াসমিন জানান, টাকা গোনা শেষ হতে বিকাল হবে। এরপর টাকাগুলো ব্যাংকে জমা রাখা হবে।
সাধারণত তিন মাস পরপর পাগলা মসজিদের দানবাক্স সিন্দুক খোলা হয়। কিন্তু বৈশ্বিক মহামারি করোনাভাইরাসের কারণে দান সিন্দুক খোলার সময়ের ব্যবধান বাড়ানো হয়েছে। এবার ৪ মাস ২৬ দিন পর দান সিন্দুক খোলা হয়েছে।
কিশোরগঞ্জের ঐতিহাসিক এই মসজিদে প্রতিদিনই অসংখ্য মানুষ নগদ টাকা-পয়সা ছাড়াও স্বর্ণালঙ্কার দান করেন। এছাড়া গবাদিপশু, হাঁস-মুরগিসহ বিভিন্ন ধরনের জিনিসপত্রও দান করেন মানুষ।
