জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ২০১৯-২০২০ শিক্ষাবর্ষের প্রথম বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীদের শর্তসাপেক্ষে দ্বিতীয় বর্ষে প্রমোশন দেয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে কর্তৃপক্ষ। করোনা মহামারির কারণে পরীক্ষা নেয়া সম্ভব না হওয়ায় যেসব শিক্ষার্থী ২০২০ সালে অনার্স প্রথম বর্ষ পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণের জন্য ফরম পূরণ করেছেন, তাদের শর্তসাপেক্ষে দ্বিতীয় বর্ষে প্রমোশন দিয়ে ক্লাস করার অনুমতি দেয়া হয়েছে।
বুধবার জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জনসংযোগ দপ্তর থেকে পাঠানো এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, ২০২০ সালে অনার্স প্রথম বর্ষ পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণের জন্য ফরম পূরণ করেছেন সর্বমোট চার লাখ ৬৭ হাজার ৮৩৫ জন শিক্ষার্থী। এদের মধ্যে নিয়মিত শিক্ষার্থী সংখ্যা দুই লাখ ৯৭ হাজার ৬২৬ জন, অনিয়মিত শিক্ষার্থী সংখ্যা ১৯ হাজার ৫০ জন। আর মানোন্নয়ন পরীক্ষার্থীর সংখ্যা এক লাখ ৫১ হাজার ১৫৯ জন। এসব শিক্ষার্থীর মধ্যে দ্বিতীয় বর্ষে প্রমোশন পাবেন তিন লাখ ১৬ হাজার ৬৭৬ জন শিক্ষার্থী। ২০১৯-২০২০ শিক্ষাবর্ষে ভর্তি হয়েছিল তিন লাখ ৭৩ হাজার ৮৭৬ জন শিক্ষার্থী।
প্রমোশন পাওয়া শর্তগুলোর মধ্যে প্রধান শর্ত হচ্ছে- পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হলে এসব শিক্ষার্থীদের অবশ্যই প্রথম বর্ষের লিখিত পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করতে হবে। কেউ এই পরীক্ষায় অংশ না নিলে বা পরীক্ষায় অংশ নিয়ে রেগুলেশন অনুযায়ী ‘নট প্রমোটেড’ হলে সেক্ষেত্রে তার শর্তসাপেক্ষে দেয়া প্রমোশন বাতিল বলে গণ্য হবে।
