বৈরুত বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের আয়োজনে অবৈধ কাগজপত্র বিহীন প্রবাসীদের স্বেচ্ছায় দেশে ফিরতে নাম নিবন্ধন শুরু হয়েছে। দূতাবাসের ঘোষণা অনুসারে গত শুক্রবার সকাল ১০টা থেকে বৈরুতের ক্লাসিকো স্টেডিয়ামে এই কার্যক্রম চলছে। ২৮ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত এ নাম নিবন্ধনের কাজ চলবে।
কাগজপত্র বিহীন প্রবাসীরা নাম নিবন্ধন করতে ভোর ৩টা থেকে জড়ো হন ক্লাসিকো স্টেডিয়ামে। এদিকে নাম নিবন্ধন করতে আসা প্রবাসীদের সামাল দিতে হিমশিম খাচ্ছেন দূতাবাস কর্মকর্তাসহ নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী। দূতাবাসের মান্যবর রাষ্ট্রদূত মেজর জেনারেল জাহাঙ্গীর আল মুস্তাহিদুর রহমান এবং প্রথম সচিব আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুন প্রবাসীদের সুন্দর ও সুশৃঙ্খলভাবে অবস্থান করার অনুরোধ জানান।
প্রসঙ্গত, লেবাননে প্রায় দেড় বছরে রাজনৈতিক, অর্থনৈতিক, ডলার সংকট, করোনাভাইরাস সংক্রমণ, বৈরুত বন্দরে বিস্ফোরণের কারণে কর্মহারা হয়ে মানবেতর জীবনযাপন করছে প্রবাসীরা। অসংখ্য প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশ থেকে টাকা এনে তিনবেলার মধ্যে একবেলা খেয়ে দিনাতিপাত করতে হচ্ছে। অনেকে দেশ থেকে টাকা এনে জরিমানা বাবদ এক লাখ চল্লিশ হাজার লেবানিজ লিরা এবং টিকেট বাবদ চারশত আমেরিকান ডলার জমা দিয়ে দেশে ফিরতে নাম নিবন্ধন করছেন।
