সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগ পরীক্ষা আগামী এপ্রিলের মধ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। আর জুলাইয়ে এ পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণদের নিয়োগ দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়।
বুধবার দুপুরে মন্ত্রণালয়ের সভাকক্ষে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা প্রতিমন্ত্রী মো. জাকির হোসনের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত সভায় এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে বৃহস্পতিবার এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়।
সূত্র জানায়, সহকারী শিক্ষকের ৩২ হাজার ৫৭৭টি শূন্যপদে নিয়োগের জন্য প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদফতর গত বছরের ২০ অক্টোবর বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করে। কিন্তু করোনা মহামারির বাস্তবতায় নিয়োগ পরীক্ষা নেওয়া সম্ভব হয়নি। ইতোমধ্যে অবসরজনিত কারণে আরও দশ হাজারেরও বেশি সহকারী শিক্ষকের পদ শূন্য হয়ে পড়েছে। এতে করে বিদ্যালয়সমূহে শিক্ষক ঘাটতি দেখা দিয়েছে, যা পাঠদান কার্যক্রমকে ব্যাহত করেছে।
এ সমস্যা নিরসনকল্পে মন্ত্রণালয় পূর্বের বিজ্ঞপ্তি শূন্যপদ ও বিজ্ঞপ্তির পরের শূন্যপদ মিলিয়ে প্রায় ৪৫ হাজার সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগে সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।
প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা সচিব আমিনুল ইসলাম খান বলেন, প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা জাতির ভিত নির্মাণ করে। তাই সরকার মানসম্মত প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা নিশ্চিতকরণে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ। এ লক্ষ্যে দ্রুততম সময়ের মধ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে।
সভায় প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদফতরের মহাপরিচালক আলমগীর মোহাম্মদ মনসুরুল আলম, মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিক আবু বকর সিদ্দিক, রুহুল আমিন ও মোশাররফ হোসেন প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
