জাতীয় শোক দিবস ও জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের ৪৬তম মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেছেন আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
রবিবার ভোর ছয়টায় ধানমন্ডির ৩২ নম্বরে বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতিতে তিনি ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন।
বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণের পর কিছুক্ষণ নিরবে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। এ সময় বিউগলে বাজানো হয় করুণ সুর। পরে তিনি সেখানে বিশেষ মোনাজাতে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বঙ্গবন্ধু ভবনের ভেতরে যান। সেখানে কিছুক্ষণ অবস্থান করেন।
পরে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বনানী কবরস্থানে ১৫ আগস্টে নিহত বঙ্গবন্ধু পরিবারের অন্যান্যদের কবরে ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধা জানান।
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের পর ধানমন্ডি ৩২ নম্বরে বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতিতে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন জাতীয় সংসদের স্পিকার শিরিন শারমিন চৌধুরী, প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ মাহমুদ হোসেন।
সকাল সাতটা থেকে আওয়ামী লীগ, আওয়ামী লীগের বিভিন্ন সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতা-কর্মীসহ সর্বোস্তরের জনগণের শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের জন্য উন্মুক্ত করে দেওয়া হয়।
