করোনা সংক্রমণ রোধে চলমান কঠোর বিধিনিষেধে ব্যাংক লেনদেন সপ্তাহে তিন দিন চলবে। বাকি চার দিন ছুটি থাকবে। এ হিসেবে আগামী সপ্তাহের রবি ও বুধবার ব্যাংক লেনদেন বন্ধ থাকবে।
বুধবার কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক সূত্রে এই সিদ্ধান্তের কথা জানা গেছে। আজই এ সংক্রান্ত একটি প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করে ব্যাংকের প্রধান নির্বাহীদের কাছে পাঠানো হবে বলে জানা গেছে।
সূত্রটি জানায়, করোনা সংক্রমণের হার বাড়ছে। বিধিনিষেধেও মানুষ বিনা প্রয়োজনে ব্যাংকের অজুহাতে ঘরের বাইরে বের হচ্ছে। একারণে আগামী সপ্তাহে ব্যাংক লেনদেন সোম, মঙ্গল ও বৃহস্পতিবার চলবে। শুক্র ও শনিবার সাপ্তাহিক ছুটির সঙ্গে রবি ও বুধবার ব্যাংক বন্ধ থাকবে।
তবে ব্যাংক লেনদেনের সময় দেড়টা থেকে বাড়িয়ে আড়াই পর্যন্ত করা হয়েছে। আর আনুষাঙ্গিক কার্য সম্পাদানের জন্য বিকাল ৩টা থেকে বাড়িয়ে ৪টা করা হয়েছে।
১ জুলাই থেকে শুরু হওয়া কঠোর বিধিনিষেধ ঈদুল আজহা উপলক্ষে আট দিনের জন্য শিথিল থাকার পর ২৩ জুলাই থেকে আবার শুরু হয়েছে, যা আগামী ৫ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত চলার কথা রয়েছে। এই সময়ে সীমিত আকারে ব্যাংক লেনদেন চালু রয়েছে।
