করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণের কারণে চলতি বছরের প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা সমাপনী (পিইসি) পরীক্ষা হচ্ছে না। এ পরীক্ষা বাতিলের বিষয়ে নীতিগত সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। তবে গেল বছরের মতো এবার অটোপ্রমোশন হচ্ছে না। বাড়ির কাজের মাধ্যমে মূল্যায়ন করে পরবর্তী শ্রেণিতে প্রমোশন দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়।
প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদফতরের মহা-পরিচালক এ এম মনছুরুল আলম এ তথ্য জানান।
মহা-পরিচালক এ এম মনছুরুল আলম জানান, প্রাথমিক সমাপনী পরীক্ষার্থীদের বাড়ির কাজের মাধ্যমে মূল্যায়ন চলবে। তাদের অটোপাস দেওয়া হবে না। পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হওয়ার পর শিক্ষার্থীদের ক্লাসে আনা সম্ভব হলেও তাদের বার্ষিক পাঠপরিকল্পনার আলোকে পড়ানো হবে। এ প্রক্রিয়ায় মূল্যায়নের ব্যবস্থা নিশ্চিত করা হবে।
শিক্ষার্থীদের পরীক্ষা না নিয়ে ‘বাড়ির কাজের’ মাধ্যমে মূল্যায়নের বিষয়টি আগেভাগেই জানিয়ে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে মন্ত্রণালয়। সেজন্য কোন পদ্ধতিতে তাদের পরবর্তী ক্লাসে প্রমোশন দেওয়া হবে তার সারসংক্ষেপ তৈরির কাজ শুরু করেছে গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়। পদ্ধতি নির্ধারণ করে খুব শিগগিরই প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে পাঠানো হবে, সেখানে সায় মিললে জুলাই মাসের মধ্যেই এ সিদ্ধান্ত আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে।
