পদ্মা সেতুর রেলওয়ে স্ল্যাব বসানোর কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। ৬ দশমিক ১৫ কিলোমিটার পদ্মাসেতুর রেলওয়ে স্ল্যাব বসানোর কাজটি করতে সময় লেগেছে ৩২ মাস ২৬ দিন। সেতুতে বসানো হয়েছে ২ হাজার ৯৫৯টি স্ল্যাব।
এই তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন পদ্মা বহুমুখী সেতু প্রকল্পের নির্বাহী প্রকৌশলী সৈয়দ রজব আলী।
তিনি জানান, সকালে মাওয়া প্রান্তের ১২ ও ১৩ নম্বর পিলারে দুইটি স্ল্যাব বসানোর মাধ্যমে সম্পন্ন হলো রেলওয়ে স্ল্যাব বসানোর কাজ। এছাড়া স্ল্যাবের বিভিন্ন স্থানে আনুষঙ্গিক কিছু কাজও বাকি আছে। সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক থাকলে আগামী বছর ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসে রেল লাইন বসানোর কাজ শুরু হতে পারে।
জানা যায়, ২০১৮ সালের ১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর জাজিরায় ৪১ ও ৪২ নম্বর পিলারে বসানো হয়েছিল প্রথম রেলওয়ে স্ল্যাব। ৮ টন ওজনের একেকটি স্ল্যাবের দৈর্ঘ্য ২ মিটার এবং প্রস্থ ৫ দশমিক ১৫ মিটার।
