রুশ বিমান হামলায় সিরিয়ার মরু অঞ্চলে ২১ আইএস জঙ্গি নিহত হয়েছে। শনিবার সিরিয়ান অবজারভেটরি ফর হিউম্যান রাইটস এমন খবর জানিয়েছে।
ইরাক সীমান্তের হোমস প্রদেশের বিপুল অঞ্চলে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় এই বিমান হামলা চালানো হয়েছে। এ সময় ১৩০টির বেশি বিমান হামলা চালানো হয়।
এর আগে সরকারি ও মিত্র বাহিনীর ওপর আইএসের কয়েক দফা হামলায় দামেস্কোপন্থী আট মিলিশিয়া নিহত হন। এরপরেই রাশিয়া এই অভিযান চালিয়েছে।
পূর্বাঞ্চলীয় দির ইজ্জর এলাকায় সবচেয়ে বেশি আইএস যোদ্ধা নিহত হয়েছে। ইরাক সীমান্তের কাছেই এটির অবস্থান।
আইএসের ছোট ছোট গ্রুপ ও তাদের যানবাহন নিশানা করে মরু অঞ্চলে অভিযান চালায় রাশিয়া।
সিরিয়ান অবজারভেটরি ফর হিউম্যান রাইটসের প্রধান রামি আবদুল রহমান বলেন, আইএস যোদ্ধাদের কোনো নির্দিষ্ট স্থান না থাকায় রাশিয়ার জন্য অভিযান পরিচালনা কঠিন। কারণ তারা ছড়িয়ে-ছিটিয়ে অবস্থান করছে এবং কোনো এক জায়গায় স্থায়ী হচ্ছে না।
