সৎ মা ও বোনকে কুপিয়ে খুন করেছেন এক যুবক। এসময় তার দায়ের কোপে সৎ ভাইও গুরুতর আহত হয়েছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার মধ্যরাতে সিলেট মহানগরের শাহপরান (রহ.) থানার বিআইডিসি এলাকার মীর মহল্লায় এই নৃশংস ঘটনা ঘটে।
অভিযুক্ত যুবক আবাদ হোসেনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। ঘটনাস্থল থেকে একটি রামদা ও ছুরি উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।
নিহতরা হলেন, রুবিয়া বেগম (৩০) ও তার মেয়ে মাহা বেগম (৯)। গুরুতর আহত হয়েছেন রুবিয়ার ছেলে তাহসান (৭)।
খবর পেয়ে সিলেট মহানগর পুলিশের উপ-কমিশনার (দক্ষিণ) সোহেল রেজা, শাহপরান থানার সহকারী কমিশনার ময়নূল আবছর ও ওসি সৈয়দ আনিসুর রহমান ঘটনাস্থল পরির্দশন করেন।
শাহপরান থানার ওসি সৈয়দ আনিসুর রহমান বলেন, বৃহস্পতিবার রাত ১২টার দিকে আবাদ হোসেন দা দিয়ে তার সৎ মা, বোন ও ভাইকে কোপাতে থাকেন। ঘটনাস্থলেই মা ও বোন মারা যান। আহত অবস্থায় তার সৎ ভাই তাহসানকে সিলেট এমএজি ওসমানী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। তার অবস্থাও গুরুতর।
ওসি আরও বলেন, অভিযুক্তকে আটক করা হয়েছে। তবে কী কারণে আবাদ তার সৎমা ও বোনকে কুপিয়ে খুন করেছেন তা জানা যায়নি।
