আরবি রজব মাসের চাঁদ দেখা গেছে। ফলে আগামী ১১ মার্চ (২৬ রজব) বৃহস্পতিবার দিনগত রাতে পালিত হবে পবিত্র লাইলাতুল মেরাজ।
শুক্রবার (১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) রাতে রাজধানীর বায়তুল মোকাররম মসজিদে ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের সভাকক্ষে চাঁদ দেখা কমিটির সভায় এ সিদ্ধান্ত জানানো হয়েছে।
আরবি শব্দ ‘লাইলাতুল’ অর্থ রাত, আর ‘মেরাজ’ অর্থ ঊর্ধ্বগমন। মুসলমানদের ধর্ম বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী, ২৬ রজব দিনগত রাতে ঊর্ধ্বাকাশে ভ্রমণ করে মহানবী হযরত মুহাম্মদ (স.) আল্লাহ তায়ালার সাক্ষাৎ লাভ করেছিলেন। এ বছর সেই রাতটি পড়েছে আগামী ২২ মার্চ।
লাইলাতুল মেরাজ মুসলমানদের কাছে বিশেষ মর্যাদার। ধর্মপ্রাণ মুসলমানরা নফল ইবাদত বন্দেগির মধ্য দিয়ে এই মূল্যবান রাত কাটান। অনেকে নফল রোজাও রাখেন এ দিন।
