উত্তরাঞ্চলের প্রথম সিনেপ্লেক্স ‘মধুবন’ বন্ধ ঘোষণার পাঁচ মাসের মাথায় সুখবর দিল হল কর্তৃপক্ষ। শাকিব খানের রোজার ঈদে সিনেমা ‘প্রিন্স’-এর হাত ধরে আবারও চালু হতে যাচ্ছে হলটি। এমনটি জানিয়েছেন ‘মধুবন’ সিনেপ্লেক্সের কর্ণধার আরএম ইউনুস রুবেল।
গণমাধ্যমকে তিনি বলেন, ‘সরকারের সহযোগিতা ও বিদেশি চলচ্চিত্র আমদানির সুযোগ থাকলে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি টিকে থাকবে। ব্যবসার মধ্যে রাজনৈতিক জটিলতা না মেশানোই উচিত। আশা করি সামনের দিনগুলোতে সুন্দর পরিবেশ বজায় থাকবে।’ লোকসানে ক্লান্ত মালিক, রাখতে চান না ৬৮ বছরের পুরনো সিনেমা হলটি। অর্ধ শত বছরেরও আগে হলটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলে ব্রিটিশ সেনাবাহিনীর অবসরপ্রাপ্ত লেফটেন্যান্ট এএম ইউনুস।
জানা গেছে, তিনি বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের (বিএনপি) রাজনীতির সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকায় বিগত সরকারের আমলে নানা প্রতিবন্ধকতার মুখোমুখি হতে হয়েছিল।
