বাংলাদেশের আকাশে আজ সোমবার (২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) কোথাও পবিত্র রবিউল আউয়াল মাসের চাঁদ দেখা যায়নি। আগামী বুধবার (২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) থেকে পবিত্র রবিউল আউয়াল মাস গণনা শুরু হবে। সে অনুযায়ী দেশে পবিত্র ঈদে মিলাদুন্নবী (সা.) পালিত হবে আগামী ৯ অক্টোবর।
আজ সন্ধ্যায় ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন বায়তুল মোকাররম সভাকক্ষে ১৪৪৪ হিজরি সালের পবিত্র রবিউল আউয়াল মাসের চাঁদ দেখা এবং পবিত্র ঈদে মিলাদুন্নবী এর তারিখ নির্ধারণের লক্ষ্যে জাতীয় চাঁদ দেখা কমিটির বৈঠকে এ সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। এতে সভাপতিত্ব করেন ধর্ম প্রতিমন্ত্রী মো. ফরিদুল হক খান।
ইসলাম ধর্মের সর্বশেষ নবী ও রাসুল হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.)-এর জন্ম ও ওফাতের পুণ্য স্মৃতিময় দিন ১২ রবিউল আউয়াল। সৌদি আরবের মক্কা নগরে ৫৭০ খ্রিস্টাব্দের এই দিনে মহানবী হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। ৬৩২ খ্রিস্টাব্দের একই দিনে তিনি ইহলোক ত্যাগ করেন। বাংলাদেশে দিনটি পবিত্র ঈদে মিলাদুন্নবী (সা.) নামে পরিচিত। ঈদে মিলাদুন্নবীতে সরকারি ছুটি থাকে।
