অর্থমন্ত্রী আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল জানিয়েছেন, আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে তেলের দাম কমে স্থিতিশীল হলে সরকার সে অনুযায়ী ব্যবস্থা নেবে।
বুধবার দুপুরে সরকারি ক্রয় সংক্রান্ত মন্ত্রিসভা কমিটির সভা শেষে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এ কথা জানান।
অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে জ্বালানি তেলের দাম এখনো উঠানামা করছে। আগের দিন ২০ ডলার কমে তো পরের দিন ২ ডলার বাড়ে। যখন তেলের দাম আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে কমে স্থিতিশীল হবে, তখন আমরাও সে অনুযায়ী ব্যবস্থা নেব।
আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে তেলের দাম কমছে, জ্বালানি প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেছেন প্রস্তাব দিলে বিবেচনা করতে পারেন। এ বিষয়ে আপনার মতামত কী? এর জবাবে অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, প্রতিমন্ত্রী যেটা বলেছেন সেটিই আমাদের সবার বক্তব্য। এখনো এটি ফেক্সিবল স্টেজে আছে। কখনো বাড়ছে, আবার কমছে। যখন স্ট্যাবল কন্ডিশনে আসবে, আমার বিশ্বাস প্রতিমন্ত্রী যা বলেছেন আশা করি সেভাবেই ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
গত ৩ নভেম্বর ডিজেল ও কেরোসিনের দাম লিটারে ১৫ টাকা বাড়িয়ে ৬৫ থেকে ৮০ টাকা নির্ধারণ করে সরকার। এরপর থেকে আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে জ্বালানি তেলের দাম কমতে শুরু করেছে। তাই দেশের বাজারে তেলের দাম কমানোর দাবি জানিয়েছে আসছে ব্যবসায়ীদের বিভিন্ন সংগঠন।
