ভারতের মহারাষ্ট্রে ভারি বর্ষণের পাশাপাশি ভূমিধসে মৃত্যু বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ১৯২ জনে। এখনও নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন ১০০ জনের মতো।
মঙ্গলবার ভারতীয় গণমাধ্যম হিন্দুস্তান টাইমস এ তথ্য জানায়।
দেশটির আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর জানায়, আগামী তিন দিন মহারাষ্ট্রের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় ভারি বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। কোঙ্কন ও রাজ্যের পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের জেলাগুলোতে বেশ কয়েক দিন ধরে ভারি বর্ষণের কাছে বন্যা ও ভূমিধসের ঘটনা ঘটেছে।
সরকারি তথ্যানুযায়ী, ৯ জেলার ৮৯০ গ্রাম বন্যা ও ভূমিধসের কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। এসব এলাকা থেকে প্রায় ২ লাখ ২৯ হাজার মানুষকে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে। সেখানে মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ১৯২ জনে এবং এখনও নিখোঁজ রয়েছে শতাধিক মানুষ। সোমবার পর্যন্ত রায়গড়ে সবচেয়ে বেশি ৭১ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। সাঁতরায় ৪১ জন, রত্নগিরিতে ২১ জন, থানে ১২ জন, কোলাপুরে ৭ জন, মুম্বাইয়ে ৪ জন এবং সিন্ধুদুর্গ-পুনে-ওয়ারদা-আকোলা জেলায় ২ জন করে মারা গেছেন।
গত কয়েক দিন ধরেই ভারি বৃষ্টি হচ্ছে মহারাষ্ট্রে। তাতে মুম্বাইসহ একাধিক এলাকা জলমগ্ন হয়ে রয়েছে। গত ৪০ বছরে জুলাই মাসে এই পরিমাণ বৃষ্টি মহারাষ্ট্রে হয়নি বলে জানিয়েছে আবহাওয়া দপ্তর।
